What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently "shave" the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz).

How does it work?

During dermaplaning an extremely fine, surgical-grade blade is used to gently exfoliate the epidermis, it also removes fine vellus hair (“peach fuzz”) to reveal a smooth, vibrant complexion which creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on flawlessly.

Dead skin cells make your complexion look dull and contribute to clogged pores and spots. Dermaplaning clears the way so skin peels, facials, skincare products and serums can more effectively penetrate the skin rather than just sitting on the skins surface.

What to expect during treatment?

You'll feel the sensation of the blade crossing your skin, which is similar to the way shaving with a razor feels. You may also hear a whispering sound as the scalpel blade crosses the top layer of your skin. But you won't feel any discomfort, and your skin will never be pierced. Clients have described it as a relaxing sensation.

Who is Dermaplaning suitable for?

This treatment is perfect for anyone's complexion that is noticeably dry, dull or aged, or if peach fuzz facial hair gets in the way of a smooth and perfect looking skin. If you suffer from a build-up of dead skin cells making imperfections and fine lines look more pronounced, or whether you are looking for a way to gently and effectively remove the top layer of your skin to reveal the smooth, undamaged face beneath.
